Vanuatu has 25 volcanoes half of which are active. The 1913-14 eruption of Ambrym was the most powerful in Melanesia
in 400 years. The 50 AD eruption was at least a VEI=6 - caused climate changes across the planet. Ambryn has also
erupted destructively in 1894, 1929 and 1951. A major eruption in the future would impact Pacific air travel.
